Patient Groups
Patient groups, or just groups, are used for defining collections of patients based on criteria you select for targeting Blast Campaigns.
There are three ways to create a group:
- By clicking the Groups main screen's Create Group button to begin a completely new Group.
- By clicking the Create Blast Campaign dialog's Create New Group button to begin a completely new group.
- By clicking the Copy button to the right of an existing group. This is best if you want to a head start on creating the group using some pre-existing settings for that group that you only need to modify it a bit.
Group Creation – Step by Step
To create a new group:
- Click Create Group from the Group main screen, or click Create New Group from the Create Blast Message dialog.
Refer to this diagram below for all step-number references: - In the Create Patient Group dialog, give the group a descriptive name.
- Click Add to add criteria to the group.
- Select the necessary criteria for the group. (See Group Criteria below.)
- Click Preview to display a list of patients meeting your criteria.
- Once you are satisfied with the design of your group, click Save to save the group and close the dialog.

Adding criteria to a group establishes...
- Select a criteria type, such as age:
- Enter an age range, then click Save.

- Add more criteria from the dropdown list, such as Patient Sex = Female, and Primary Provider = Dr. Ivanov and Dr. McNamara.
- Review the criteria you have chosen. If you are satisfied with this group, click Save to save the group and close the dialog.
