Charges Window

Tap the Charges window to bring up the Charges Entry screen. This screen works similarly to the Diagnoses screen in terms of Find, Copy, and SALT; however, you cannot reorder the charges list. A list of your charges appears on the left, and charges option buttons appear on the right. If there is more than one page of option buttons, tap or to scroll through buttons.

Tap a charges button to enter that charge into your list of charges.

Tap the charges category button to view a list of other categories, and then select another category.

To remove a charge: Tap the charge and then tap the Remove button.

To remove all charges in the list: Tap the Remove All button.

To change the billing provider: Tap the Billing Provider button to bring up a list of providers, and then select a provider.

To change the units: Tap the charge for which you wish to change units, and then tap the minus or plus buttons to decrease or increase the units.

To assign specific diagnoses for a charge: Tap the Dx Pointing button to bring up the Assign Diagnoses for Charge dialog box.

Tap the Use appointment diagnoses check box to clear it. By default, the check box is selected, meaning all appointment diagnoses are being assigned. By clearing the check box, you can select specific diagnoses.

Tap diagnoses to select them. You can select multiple diagnoses. To cancel a selection, tap it again.

When finished, tap the Save button. If you have chosen specific diagnoses for charge, the Dx Pointing button appears green.

Tap the Find button to bring up the Find Charge screen.

Tap the search field and type a keyword to automatically search for it. 

Tap the Code button to sort your results by code. Tap the Description button to sort your results by description.

You can also change the search mode to Find or Filter.

  • Find puts the closest match at the top of the search results list.
  • Filter lists only those items that include the keyword you type the search field.

Tap the charge you'd like to enter, and then tap the Select button to enter it in your charges list.

  1. Tap the Copy button. The Copy Charge screen appears with a list of prior appointments.
  2. Tap the desired appointment.
  3. Tap the Select button. The charges from that appointment are added to the charges list. (It does not replace the charges already in the list.)
  1. Tap the SALT button. If there is no charge posted in the last appointment, the Copy Charge screen appears. If there is a charge posted in the last appointment, the Same As Last Treatment screen appears with the appointment and posted charges.
  2. Tap the Yes button. The charges are entered in the charges list.

When finished adding charges, tap the Post Charges button to save your charges, or tap the CANCEL button to exit without posting.
