Creating Macros

1. Click New Macro Set.
   
2. Type a name for your macro set. To copy macro buttons from an existing set, select "Copy From", and then select a macro set.
3. Click OK.

1. Click any blank button to create a new menu button. The upper-left button serves as the main menu button by default. Select the menu that you wish to display or type a name for a new menu.

2. Click Save. You can add text buttons under the new menu button, create another menu button, or create standalone text buttons around the menu button.

1. Click any blank button other than the main menu button (the upper-left button).
2. Type the caption you would like to appear on the button.
3. Type the text you wish to appear in your macro. If you wish to format the text, check the Formatted Text Macro box.
4. Click Save to save and return to the Macro Setup Tool.

1. Click the menu button in which you wish the text button to appear.
2. Click Open Menu on the left navigation pane.
3. Click a blank button where you'd like your text button to appear.
4. Click New Text Button in the left navigation pane.

You can automatically post charges and diagnoses by adding them to macro text buttons.

Add charges to a macro text button

1. Click the macro text button to which you would like to add charges. The Macro Charges list appears.
   
2. In the Macro Charges list, click the charge and click Add to move it from the Available column to the Selected column. You can also double-click a charge to add it.
3. To remove a charge from the Selected list, select the charge and click Remove.

Add diagnoses to a macro text button

1. Click the macro text button you would like to add diagnoses to. The Macro Diagnoses list appears. You can view ICD-9 codes, ICD-10 codes, or both, by selecting the options below the list.
   
2. In the Macro Diagnoses list, click the diagnosis, and then click Add to move the diagnosis from the Available column to the Selected column. You can also double-click a diagnosis to add it.
3. To change the order in which a diagnosis appears, click the diagnosis, and then click Move Up or Move Down.
4. To remove a diagnosis from the Selected list, click the diagnosis, and then click Remove.

When finished adding charges and diagnoses, click Save.

To save time, you can copy macro text from one macro set into another macro set. When copying macro text containing an advanced macro field, the macro choice list will be copied to the new set. If you change the macro choices in either the original or the target macro, both instances of the list will contain the revised version of the list.
